Mission
Impossible 2 Soundtrack | |
| Power Tripping by Monster Magnet. As the title suggests, this is an adrenaline-soaked power trip rollercoaster. We came across it playing during the end credits of Soldier (the Rambo-in-space SF action video)... it stood out sufficiently for us to find out what it was. | |
| Jahoda Witness by Nojahoda. This is the first album of the young and idealistic band Nojahoda, who seem to have been extremely lucky in getting heavyweight backing and unusually early promotion. On the basis of this first album, this faith in their potential is paying off, but, of course, one album does not a career make. Let's hope they can continue their upward trajectory. This first album is almost universally referred to by the music reviewers as "refreshing"... which translates that it's non-formulaic and genre-mixing. There are some hardrocking pumping numbers, but also some balladic tracks, some that are almost country music and some that can only be described as zany. It's an album which can be left on in the background to entertain, while doing other things (that's a compliment). The band themselves are a group of young men who seem genuinely to be trying to do something different with rock music and so deserve a bit of slack, to see if this will eventually become something truly amazing. | |
