This is the best single diet book that encompasses the latest thinking on diet and health. The authors really try to be comprehensive, rather than the usual "one idea diet books" that hit the bestseller list and then disappear into obscurity. The title includes the word "Lifeplan" to emphasize that this is a way of eating that can guide your food choices in the long term, rather than a diet in the sense of a food fad that you "do" for a few weeks in a desperate effort to lose unwanted weight.
The Eades' (the husband and wife authors) approach is scientifically balanced and refreshingly sceptical. They don't hit the bullseye every time, but overall this book is a great springboard to revolutionising your approach to food and blowing away some of the destructive myths.
